We are seeking an energetic, customer-focused Leasing Consultant to join our Jacksonville team and help drive occupancy, resident satisfaction, and community success.

Position Summary

The Leasing Consultant is responsible for marketing available apartments, conducting property tours, converting prospects into residents, and providing exceptional customer service throughout the leasing process. This position plays a key role in achieving occupancy goals by building relationships with prospective residents and creating a positive leasing experience from first contact through move-in.

Key Responsibilities

Leasing & Sales

  • Conduct apartment tours and showcase community amenities to prospective residents.

  • Respond promptly to phone, email, online, and walk-in inquiries.

  • Follow up with prospects to convert leads into leases.

  • Meet and exceed leasing and occupancy goals.

  • Build rapport with prospective residents and identify their housing needs.

  • Maintain knowledge of current pricing, specials, availability, and community features.

  • Assist with lease renewals and resident retention efforts.

Application Processing & Move-In Coordination

  • Guide applicants through the leasing process and explain application requirements.

  • Collect required documentation, application fees, deposits, and lease paperwork.

  • Review applications for completeness and accuracy before submission.

  • Coordinate move-in schedules and ensure all required documentation is completed.

  • Assist in creating a smooth move-in experience for new residents.

Resident Relations & Customer Service

  • Provide outstanding customer service to current and prospective residents.

  • Address resident questions and concerns professionally and promptly.

  • Maintain positive resident relationships to encourage lease renewals.

  • Promote a welcoming and professional community environment.

Marketing & Outreach

  • Maintain a strong online and in-person presence for the community.

  • Assist with marketing initiatives, resident events, and outreach efforts.

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity.

  • Help generate traffic through prospecting and lead generation activities.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate prospect, applicant, and resident records.

  • Update property management software and leasing systems regularly.

  • Ensure all leasing documentation is complete and properly filed.

  • Assist with reports related to leasing performance and occupancy.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of leasing, sales, customer service, or property management experience preferred.

  • Strong sales and closing skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Basic understanding of Fair Housing regulations preferred.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Experience with Yardi or other property management software preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.

  • Ability to learn new software systems quickly.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Additional coursework in business, real estate, marketing, or property management is a plus.
