Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Learning Experience Designer on behalf of an innovative higher education institution. This role will focus on creating engaging, interactive, and technology-enhanced learning experiences for online courses and programs.

The Learning Experience Designer will partner closely with instructional designers, faculty, and academic technology teams to transform course content and learning outcomes into meaningful opportunities for students to practice, apply knowledge, make decisions, solve problems, receive feedback, and demonstrate learning.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design engaging learning experiences including scenarios, simulations, case studies, role-play activities, guided practice, and applied projects.
• Partner with faculty and instructional designers to identify opportunities for active learning, authentic application, practice, and feedback.
• Develop multimedia and AI-supported learning experiences using video, audio, graphics, interactive media, tutoring, coaching, and simulation tools.
• Create reusable learning activities, templates, and learning objects that can scale across courses and programs.
• Build and support interactive learning experiences within D2L Brightspace and other learning technologies.
• Evaluate external learning resources, including professional certificates, online courseware, and industry content, for potential integration.
• Review interactive and AI-generated content for instructional quality, accuracy, accessibility, and usability.
• Pilot emerging learning technologies and use student engagement, performance, and feedback data to identify opportunities for improvement.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design, Educational Technology, Learning Sciences, Education, Digital Media, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience designing digital, interactive, or technology-enhanced learning experiences.
• Experience with active learning approaches such as scenarios, simulations, case-based learning, guided practice, multimedia, or similar methods.
• Experience using generative AI or AI-enabled tools within learning environments.
• Strong understanding of learning outcomes, assessment, practice, feedback, accessibility, and instructional alignment.
• Strong collaboration, visual communication, writing, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree.
• Previous higher education experience.
• Experience with D2L Brightspace or Edvisor.
• Experience with interactive development tools such as H5P or Articulate.
• Experience developing AI-generated instructional media.
• Experience integrating external courseware, professional certifications, or microcredentials.
• Experience evaluating learning interventions using student performance, engagement, or feedback data.

Compensation

This position pays $43/hourly plus benefits.
