Description

The Manufacturing Engineer supports the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing and assembly processes to drive operational efficiency, quality, and productivity. This role partners closely with engineering and production teams to implement Lean initiatives, improve assembly operations, and support the introduction of new products within a high-reliability manufacturing environment.

Description

This position will report directly into the Engineering Manager and be responsible for:

  • Developing and improving manufacturing and assembly processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Leading Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events, 5S activities, process standardization, and waste reduction efforts.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements within assembly operations to improve workflow, throughput, ergonomics, and manufacturing performance.
  • Partnering with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturability and assembly efficiency of existing and new products.
  • Establishing manufacturing and assembly processes for new products and production programs.
  • Designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing fixtures, tooling, and work aids that support safe and efficient production.
  • Supporting new product introduction activities and ensuring smooth transition from design to manufacturing.
  • Analyzing production issues, conducting root cause investigations, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Developing and maintaining manufacturing documentation, process instructions, and standard work procedures.
  • Supporting automation initiatives and evaluating opportunities to increase productivity and reduce manual process variation.
  • Monitoring manufacturing metrics and driving process improvements to meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Collaborating with Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to ensure successful execution of manufacturing goals.

Profile

A successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing engineering experience; equivalent industry experience may be considered
  • Demonstrated experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, or similar methodologies.
  • Experience driving measurable improvements in assembly processes, manufacturing workflows, and production efficiency.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing process development, fixture design, tooling implementation, and process validation.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) and production ramp-up activities.
  • Strong problem-solving, root cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Aerospace, defense, military, or other highly regulated manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
