Job Description:
Job Summary
Insightsoftware is seeking a Lead UI Engineer to own the front-end technical foundation of the newly established UX team within the Certent Equity Management (CEM) product organization. Reporting to the UX Manager, Equity, you will build and govern the CEM Design System (its component library, design token architecture, Storybook documentation, and front-end standards) and serve as the primary engineering partner to UX, Product, and Engineering.
What You'll Own
Design System & Component Library
Architect, implement, and evolve the CEM Design System on PrimeNG and Angular
Extend PrimeNG components into a branded, enterprise-ready library with defined APIs, token architecture, and accessibility standards
Build, version, and publish shared components for consumption across multiple product teams
Own Storybook as the authoritative component documentation environment, including MDX docs, interaction states, CI integration, and Chromatic visual regression testing
Define contribution workflows, deprecation processes, and front-end standards across engineering
AI-Assisted Development & Governance
Own the Storybook environment as the authoritative documentation site for reusable UI components.
Develop comprehensive component documentation including usage guidance, interaction states, accessibility considerations, and implementation examples.
Integrate Storybook into the CI/CD pipeline to automate publishing and validation.
Implement visual regression testing using Chromatic or comparable tooling to identify UI regressions before release.
Establish documentation standards and contribution guidelines for engineering teams.
Front-End Engineering & Collaboration
Lead implementation of complex Angular UI features using design system components
Partner with UX during discovery and handoff to keep designs technically feasible
Review PRs for UI quality, accessibility, and design system adherence
Mentor engineers on component reuse, accessibility, and front-end standards
Required Qualifications
5+ years building enterprise SaaS front-ends with Angular in production
Deep hands-on experience with PrimeNG (or similar) - customization, theming, component extension
Proven ownership of an enterprise design system: token pipeline, versioning, governance, cross-team adoption
Expert Storybook experience: MDX, add-ons, Chromatic, CI integration
Strong WCAG 2.1 AA knowledge implemented at the component API level, not just audited
Hands-on experience integrating AI development tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) with design system guardrails including MCP server configuration and governance processes that keep AI-generated code compliant
Technical Stack
Angular 22+ · PrimeNG · Storybook · TypeScript · RxJS · Angular Signals · Angular CDK · .NET 10 · .NET Aspire · Azure SQL · Kubernetes
Preferred
Enterprise design systems in financial services, ERP, or complex SaaS
Design token pipelines: Tokens Studio, Style Dictionary, CSS custom properties
Figma variables and design-to-code token workflows
Large-scale application modernization experience
Private component library publishing (GitHub Packages or similar)
Education
Bachelor's in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
