    Lead Telecom Technician (Central Office Decommissioning) Nationwide Travel Required
    Broadstaff is seeking experienced Lead Telecom Technicians to support large-scale Central Office (CO) decommissioning projects across the United States.

    This is an excellent opportunity for telecom professionals with extensive Central Office experience, advanced DC power knowledge, and proven leadership abilities. The ideal candidate will have experience working in live network environments and leading crews through equipment power-down, cable mining, and infrastructure removal activities while maintaining the highest safety standards.
    What You'll Do
    • Lead telecom technicians on Central Office decommissioning projects
    • Execute and manage approved Methods of Procedure (MOPs)
    • Coordinate with project management, engineering teams, and network operations personnel
    • Lead safe power-down activities in live -48V DC environments
    • Identify and verify A/B feeds, power paths, and battery plant sources
    • Oversee removal of DC power cabling, BDFBs, PDUs, and related infrastructure
    • Supervise equipment removal, including bays, cabinets, relay racks, and legacy telecom systems
    • Lead cable mining efforts involving fiber, copper, and coaxial cabling
    • Conduct job-site safety meetings and ensure compliance with all safety procedures
    • Maintain accurate project documentation and redline drawings
    • Mentor and support junior technicians in the field
    Required Qualifications
    • 5+ years of Central Office telecommunications experience
    • Strong experience working in live -48V DC power environments
    • Previous experience leading telecom installation or decommissioning crews
    • Ability to execute MOPs in live network environments
    • Working knowledge of grounding and bonding standards
    • Experience with cable mining and equipment removal projects
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and power schematics
    • Valid driver's license
    • Ability to travel extensively nationwide
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with Nortel, Lucent, Alcatel, Ericsson, Cisco, or Ciena equipment
    • Carrier experience supporting major telecom providers
    • OSHA 30 certification
    • First Aid/CPR certification
    • Previous experience serving as a site lead, foreman, or crew supervisor
