TransCore (TCI), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a Lead Technician to join our team in Bonifay, FL.
Summary:
Responsible for leading crews in the construction and installation of ITS field devices, communications systems, and traffic signal systems. Performs on-site installation of electronic, electromechanical, and low-voltage electrical equipment. This position may include various aspects of field support, including system hardware and software, PCs, and IP telephony, networking, and wireless networking. Determines the most cost-effective and practical installation methods to minimize customer downtime and expense. Prepares proposals for time, labor, and materials.

Requirements and Experience
Typically requires 8+ years of related experience.
Minimum of two years of experience operating heavy equipment.
Minimum of two years of experience leading or managing field crews.
Must successfully complete all required background and drug screenings initiated by TransCore as part of the hiring process. When required by the project, must also successfully complete Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and State Law Enforcement Radio System (SLERS) background screenings.
Communications construction experience.
Energetic and self-motivated.
Experience operating bucket trucks and the ability to safely work at heights ranging from approximately 40 to 120 feet.
Experience with outside plant fiber optic installation.
Knowledge of FDOT Standard Specifications and Design Standards.
Education & Certification:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
A valid Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) preferred.
Florida Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Certification preferred.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Work is frequently performed outdoors and in active roadway environments with exposure to moving traffic, moving mechanical parts, and varying weather conditions. Must be able to safely work in active roadway environments near moving traffic and comply with all applicable safety requirements and personal protective equipment (PPE) standards.
