About the Role:
Providence Children’s Academy in Coconut Creek, FL is seeking a passionate, dependable, and experienced
VPK Lead Teacher to join our team! We are looking for an enthusiastic early childhood educator who enjoys working with preschool-aged children and is committed to creating a positive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
Our goal is to help every child develop the academic, social, emotional, and independence skills needed to successfully transition into kindergarten. The ideal candidate will be organized, patient, creative, and confident in leading a classroom while working collaboratively with our administration and teaching team.
Position hours: 7:30am to 4:30pm or 8am to 5pm
Responsibilities:- Must meet Florida Department of Education requirements to serve as a VPK instructor.
- Must meet applicable Florida childcare personnel requirements, including DCF training and background screening.
- Previous experience in a preschool, VPK, or early childhood classroom preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood development, classroom management, and kindergarten-readiness expectations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and lesson-planning skills.
- Ability to lead a classroom independently while collaborating effectively with an assistant teacher.
- A genuine passion for educating young children and supporting their development.
- Must be dependable, responsible, patient, and professional.
Requirements:- High school diploma or equivalent required; early childhood education coursework preferred
- Previous experience working with VPK students
- Meet Florida’s requirements for a VPK instructor
- Ability to meet Florida DCF childcare staff requirements and background screening
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Patient, caring, and enthusiastic demeanor with a genuine love for working with young children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
