    Schedule/Hours: M - F 9:00 pm - 5:30 pm - 40 hours a week

    This position is responsible for:

    Develops, implements, and supervises the daily aspects of the classroom; maintains the classroom environment, establishes a positive and ongoing relationship with children and parents; works to maintain a positive teamwork relationship with peers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develops and implements a balanced enrichment program appropriate for the age group of children in his/her care according to content needs designated by the director; ensures activities are developmentally appropriate and provide support to the core curriculum; ensures that standards are maintained in all aspects of classroom planning and function.
    • Assists Child Care Director with staff in planning and developing curriculum; provides staff instruction and training in approved methods and procedures for dealing with children.
    • Prepares educational materials which are required to implement the daily activity plans.
    • Maintains an orderly physical environment conducive to the children's safety, growth, and development; ensures that supplies and equipment being used are in good repair and easily accessible to the children; trains children in all emergency procedures.
    • Conducts individual child development assessments and parent conferences for each child enrolled as necessary; observes, records and reports significant individual or group behavior.
    • Maintains up-to-date children's records and ensures that office staff are kept informed of any changes in parent/child information.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or a closely related field, or

    Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education

    and

    Two years' experience in early childhood programs, or

    Child Development Accreditation

    and

    three years' experience in early childhood programs, or

    any equivalent combination of education and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

    LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

    Teaching Certification from the State of Florida
