Lead Teacher – Toddler / 2-Year-Old Classroom
The Learning Experience – Hell's Kitchen is seeking an experienced Early Childhood Lead Teacher to guide our 2-year-old classroom. This role supports children during a key stage of independence, language growth, and early social development through structured routines and engaging classroom experiences.
This position is ideal for educators who enjoy leading a classroom team while creating a warm, consistent environment that helps young learners build confidence and early learning foundations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily classroom routines for a 2-year-old early childhood classroom
- Implement developmentally appropriate activities aligned with the L.E.A.P. Curriculum
- Support early communication, social interaction, and self-help skill development
- Create a structured environment that promotes independence and participation
- Partner with assistant teachers to maintain classroom consistency and engagement
- Communicate regularly with families regarding classroom activities and developmental progress
- Maintain compliance with New York State and NYC health, safety, and licensing standards
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education required or currently in progress
- Minimum 6 months of classroom teaching experience required
- Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practice for toddlers
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- Must meet all New York State and NYC childcare licensing requirements
