Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Subcontracts Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of FAR 15 proposals and subcontracts supporting key aerospace and defense programs.

This role will support the Mechanical Assembly Government Sourcing Team by leading assigned commodities, mentoring team members, and managing subcontract activities from proposal development through contract award and fulfillment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of FAR/DFARS regulations, subcontract negotiations, supplier management, and government contracting compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of FAR 15 proposals and subcontracts.
• Execute subcontracts in compliance with FAR, DFARS, and applicable government regulations.
• Develop and implement negotiation strategies for subcontract execution.
• Manage strategic suppliers supporting government and aerospace programs.
• Deliver compliant FAR 15 proposal packages to government customers.
• Partner closely with Pricing teams to ensure accurate and compliant proposal submissions.
• Negotiate FAR 15-compliant subcontracts and long-term purchase agreements with suppliers.
• Lead assigned commodity strategies while driving supplier performance and value.
• Mentor, train, and support junior team members.
• Ensure subcontract activities remain compliant throughout the program lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Pricing, Engineering, and Program Management.
• Support contract fulfillment through sales order completion.

Required Qualifications

• 3 5 years of experience in one or more of the following:
  • Government Sourcing
  • Procurement
  • Supply Chain
  • Contracts
  • Business
  • Finance
• Experience managing FAR 15 subcontracting.
• Strong understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
• Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person due to contractual requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience supporting subcontractors throughout the full program lifecycle.
• Knowledge of FAR and DFARS regulations.
• Experience with:
  • SAP
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Subcontract management systems
• Experience within aerospace, defense, or government contracting environments.
• Experience managing subcontract types including:
  • Firm Fixed Price (FFP)
  • Cost Plus (CP)
  • Cost Plus Incentive Fee (CPIF)
• Experience with Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (TCPD) requirements.
• Experience reviewing and negotiating contract terms and conditions.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across functional teams.
