Lead Structural Engineer/Food & Beverage

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned structural engineering professional to spearhead our Food & Beverage sector projects. This position is integral to aligning structural engineering strategies from concept through construction, ensuring collaboration across operations, preconstruction, and architectural disciplines. Your expertise will be pivotal in crafting designs that are efficient, economical, and on schedule.

You will be the cornerstone of structural engineering from initial design to facility operation phases, bearing the responsibility for managing and coordinating structural design services.

Collaboration and Departments

Based in the Structural Engineering unit, you'll be exclusively focused on the Food & Beverage projects, ensuring integration with related disciplines for comprehensive solutions.

Core Responsibilities

Engineering Excellence

• Act as the Engineer of Record for internal projects.
• Assess and design solutions for emergency structural conditions.
• Create detailed design documents and marketing assets for project pursuits.
• Ensure timely delivery of construction milestones documents.
• Develop drafting templates for design processes.
• Support model-based estimating with Preconstruction.
• Design multiple structural systems for diverse building types.
• Stay updated on construction methodologies and codes.
• Leverage technology in project management and execution.
• Mentor juniors and foster design standard improvements.

Preconstruction and Design Leadership

• Steer design-build project pursuits and client interactions.
• Coordinate with teams to establish budgets and conduct meetings.
• Evaluate alternative design solutions with preconstruction teams.
• Integrate closely with MEP and other engineering disciplines.
• Review construction facets like submittals and RFIs.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows.
• Industrial project coordination experience.
• Expertise in construction documentation.
• Familiarity with Food & Beverage standards is beneficial.

Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, with 5+ years in structural design, preferably within Food & Beverage or industrial projects.

Skills: Proficiency in Revit/AutoCAD, BIM360, Navisworks, and awareness of industrial processes.

Certification: S.E. / P.E. in Georgia, with reciprocity potential.
