    Lead Stevedore - 21.00 Per Hour - HEAVY OT
    SAVARD Personnel Group is seeking an experienced Lead Stevedore to lead vessel discharge operations at the Port of Houston. This position is responsible for running the crew inside the ship's hatch (cargo hold), directing daily operations, ensuring safe and efficient cargo handling, and maintaining productivity throughout the unloading process.
    Responsibilities
    • Lead and supervise the stevedore crew working inside the ship's hatch (cargo hold)
    • Coordinate and direct unloading operations to ensure safe and efficient cargo movement
    • Work closely with crane operators, forklift operators, cargo checkers, and terminal personnel
    • Oversee the unloading of bagged cement, supersacks, and other bulk cargo
    • Ensure compliance with all port, OSHA, and company safety procedures
    • Conduct pre-shift safety meetings and communicate daily work assignments
    • Monitor crew productivity and maintain operational schedules
    • Report equipment, safety, or operational issues to management
    • Maintain accurate records of cargo operations and crew activities
    • Assist with cargo handling and other dock operations as needed
    Qualifications
    • Previous experience as a Lead Stevedore, Hatch Foreman, Dock Foreman, or similar supervisory role
    • Experience leading crews during vessel discharge operations
    • Must be comfortable working inside the ship's cargo hold (hatch) for extended periods
    • Must be able to work in dusty and physically demanding environments
    • Knowledge of crane operations, rigging, cargo handling, and marine terminal procedures
    • TWIC Card required
    • OSHA certification is a plus
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

    Shifts:
    • 12 hour shifts starting on July 24th til vessel is completed 
    • Day/Nights available 


    Duration:
    • 5-7 day project; could turn into recurrring opportunity
