Your Role

Akkodis is seeking a Lead Specialist AI Scientist for a Contract with a client in Durham, NC. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience training, fine-tuning, and optimizing foundation models using techniques such as LoRA, QLoRA, RLHF, or DPO to drive AI innovation on a scale. Lead model development, evaluation, and deployment efforts while setting technical standards and mentoring teams to deliver production-ready AI solutions.

Rate Range: $90/Hour to $98/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Lead Specialist AI Scientist Job Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the training, fine-tuning, and optimization of foundation models using techniques such as LoRA, QLoRA, RLHF, DPO, and model distillation.

  • Design and execute rigorous experiments, data curation strategies, and evaluation frameworks to continuously improve model performance and reliability.

  • Develop scalable AI/ML solutions using Python and deep learning frameworks, leveraging distributed and multi-GPU training environments.

  • Drive the deployment and operationalization of AI models in production environments across cloud platforms and enterprise applications.

  • Establish technical standards, best practices, and governance for model development while mentoring engineers and data scientists.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related technical field.

  • 8-10 years of experience in AI/ML development, model training, and deploying production-grade AI solutions.

  • Proven hands-on experience fine-tuning and optimizing foundation models using techniques such as LoRA, QLoRA, RLHF, DPO, or model distillation.

  • Strong expertise in Python, deep learning frameworks, distributed training, and leading AI initiatives from experimentation through production deployment.

Pay Details: $90.00 to $98.00 per hour
