Lead Software Engineer (.NET)

Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill a Lead Software Engineer (.NET) job in White Plains, NY. This CONTRACT hire job is available with one of our key customers in the automotive retail industry. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of .NET and Azure based digital platforms while writing production code and mentoring engineers. In order to be successful in this position, you must have eight plus years of .NET development experience and a track record providing technical leadership to a team of three or more engineers. Preference will be given to someone with Azure or cloud-native architecture, DevOps, and AI-assisted development experience.

Lead Software Engineer (.NET) Job responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of scalable, highly available software products.
• Contribute production code, review designs and code, and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Translate business objectives into architecture, technical plans, estimates, and delivery priorities.
• Mentor engineers and promote strong practices in automated testing, security, reliability, observability, and DevOps.
• Develop reusable solution patterns with architecture and other engineering teams.
• Communicate technical decisions, risks, and tradeoffs, and guide responsible adoption of AI-assisted development practices.

Qualifications:

• Eight plus years of .NET software development experience with increasing responsibility
• Technical leadership of a team of three or more software engineers
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Experience delivering large-scale, highly available, mission critical systems
• Strong knowledge of .NET microservices or multi-tier architecture, REST APIs, JSON, OAuth, SQL, and data modeling
• Agile experience with strong solution design and communication skills

This contract Lead Software Engineer (.NET) job is based in White Plains, NY. The hourly pay rate for this role ranges from $80.00 - $85.00. Contractors working through Aquinas Consulting are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, medical indemnity coverage, a 401(k) plan, and biweekly direct deposit pay. Contract roles do not include PTO unless required by applicable state laws.
