Oracle Exadata technology is the newest innovation in Oracle's history as the provider of the industry's number one database technology. Exadata group (Server Technologies Division) is responsible for the development of all aspects of the Exadata Storage Server and Exadata Database Machine which is named as one of Oracle's most successful new products. Exadata Database Machine is the only database appliance in the industry that is capable of providing extreme performance for data warehousing, OLTP and consolidated workloads. Built using database and storage software from Oracle and industry standard hardware from Sun/Intel, Exadata Database Machine provides a fully optimized engineered system for best performance, scalability and high availability.

This role sits at the intersection of distributed systems, storage, and networking. Exadata uses RDMA over Converged Ethernet as part of its internal fabric to provide low-latency communication, message prioritization, intelligent flow control, and Ethernet-based RDMA performance and reliability. That makes this role especially relevant for engineers with strong systems depth across networking stacks, low-latency communication, and large-scale clustered infrastructure. As Exadata continues to evolve, high performance networking plays a critical role in enabling low-latency, high-throughput communication across database and storage infrastructure.

    Description of the Role:

    • Design and implement high performance networking features for Oracle Exadata systems, with a focus on low-latency, high-throughput data paths

    • Develop and optimize software for distributed communication across database and storage nodes using technologies such as RDMA/RoCE and related high speed interconnects.

    • Work across networking, storage, and compute boundaries to improve end-to-end system performance

    • Develop parallel algorithms and distributed systems software that runs on a large-scale database and storage cluster

    • Analyze, debug, and resolve complex performance bottlenecks and systems issues across the software and hardware stack

    • Contribute to multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative, and rapidly evolving engineering environment
