McLane is searching for a Lead Engineer, Software to lead the modernization of mission‑critical EDI platforms that power a large‑scale digital supply chain. As a Lead Software Engineer - EDI, you'll combine deep hands‑on engineering with technical leadership-owning complex EDI ecosystems while driving reliability, scalability, and cloud‑forward transformation.
This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office at least three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Austin or Temple, TX.

What You'll Do
Serve as the technical owner for enterprise EDI platforms supporting high‑volume, business‑critical integrations.
Lead design, development, and delivery of EDI solutions across mainframe, distributed, and cloud environments.
Drive modernization of COBOL‑based EDI systems while maintaining production stability.
Architect and implement EDI integrations using X12 transactions, Sterling B2B Integrator, and IBM ITX.
Integrate EDI workflows with APIs and modern cloud‑native services.
Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex production issues across EDI, databases, and integrations.
Establish engineering best practices, CI/CD, observability, and secure integration patterns.
Mentor engineers and raise overall EDI engineering maturity.
