Position Overview & Key Responsibilities The Lead Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) (Specialist III) is a senior technical leadership role responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, performance, and security of enterprise cloud infrastructure hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Serving as a subject matter expert with active AWS certification, you will lead the design, automation, and optimization of cloud environments, championing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and GitOps practices. This role bridges the gap between software engineering and systems operations, driving operational excellence, mentoring engineering teams, and leading incident response and disaster recovery strategies to guarantee high availability for critical applications.
- Cloud Architecture & Provisioning: Architect, deploy, and maintain secure, highly available, and fault-tolerant AWS cloud infrastructure, aligning all designs with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Lead the development, testing, and maintenance of modular, secure, and reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or OpenTofu to automate multi-environment deployments and state management.
- CI/CD & Deployment Automation: Design, optimize, and manage robust continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate application delivery, configuration management, and infrastructure provisioning.
- Observability & Proactive Monitoring: Establish comprehensive observability frameworks—including logging, metrics, and alerting systems (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)—to define and monitor Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
- Incident Management & Disaster Recovery: Lead incident response efforts, conduct thorough post-mortem root-cause analyses (RCAs), and design, test, and execute disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity plans.
- Technical Leadership & Governance: Provide technical direction, establish cloud engineering standards, conduct code reviews for IaC, and mentor junior team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
