    Position Summary

    i2k Defense is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Lead Shipping & Receiving Clerk to oversee the logistical flow of our high-tech military manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for the accurate intake of raw materials and the complex outbound shipment of mission-critical defense equipment via LTL, Air, and International Cargo.

    Key Responsibilities

    Logistics & LTL Operations

    • LTL & Cargo Management: Coordinate and schedule Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) pickups and deliveries; prepare Bill of Ladings (BOL), packing slips, and commercial invoices for Air and Cargo shipments.

    • Carrier Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for freight forwarders and carriers to ensure timely delivery of rush orders.

    • Secure Palletizing: Expertly wrap and secure large-scale military shelters and decoys using automated Pallet Wrap Machines to prevent damage during transit.

    Material Handling & Safety

    • Forklift Operations: Safely operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts to load/unload flatbeds and containers.

    • Safety Inspections: Perform daily pre-shift inspections on all material handling equipment in accordance with California OSHA standards.

    • Receiving: Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders; inspect for damage and document discrepancies immediately.

    Inventory Control

    • Cycle Counting: Lead regular inventory cycle counts to ensure 100% accuracy of raw materials and finished goods.

    • Data Entry: Utilize the company’s ERP/Warehouse Management System (WMS) to log all movements, updates, and adjustments in real-time.

    • Supply Management: Maintain stock of shipping consumables (pallets, wrap, tape, labels) to prevent production downtime.

    Required Qualifications

    • Certification: Current Forklift Certification (OSHA-compliant) is mandatory.

    • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years in an industrial shipping environment, preferably within the defense or aerospace sectors.

    • Technical Skill: Proficiency with LTL carrier portals and international shipping documentation (Cargo/Air).

    • Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and remain active on the warehouse floor for an 8-hour shift.
