Lead / Senior Estimator - Retail

Lead estimating and preconstruction efforts for ground-up, renovation, retrofit, and tenant improvement projects.

Attend pre-bid meetings and perform site visits to gain a thorough understanding of project scope.

Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to identify risks, opportunities, and constructability considerations.

Develop conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, and final bid submissions.

Prepare labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.

Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure strong bid coverage.

Review and level subcontractor proposals for completeness and accuracy.

Collaborate with project managers, architects, developers, and owners throughout the preconstruction process.

Develop preliminary schedules and identify long-lead procurement items.

Track document revisions and maintain estimate accuracy throughout bidding.

Present estimates and pricing strategies to leadership teams.

Participate in value engineering and means-and-method discussions.

Support project turnover meetings and communicate scope assumptions to operations teams.

Maintain cost history and analyze actual versus estimated project performance.

A successful Lead / Senior Estimator - Retail should have:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred. Equivalent construction experience will be considered.

5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.

Experience with ground-up, renovation, retrofit, and tenant improvement projects.

Strong background in conceptual estimating, negotiated work, and hard-bid projects.

Knowledge of commercial construction methods, materials, and building codes.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.

Experience with estimating and quantity takeoff software preferred.

Restaurant construction experience is a plus.

Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
