Job Overview:
This position is responsible for assisting the supervisor with staffing, monitoring the flow of calls, assisting staff and ensuring adherence to departmental guidelines, and assist with performance improvement measures. This position will be a working lead, in addition to covering sick calls, vacations, holiday, etc. This position will be on-call during the evenings, nights and on weekends. This position is responsible for problem solving and intervening for all customer service issues at the first level. This position demonstrates excellent verbal/written communication skills and a high level of professionalism. This position is also responsible for assisting in the training of new hires and developing training and support materials. This position demonstrates a high degree of job knowledge and skill in the processes related to the Communication Support Department allowing this position to act as a resource and work actively with other operators and patient information staff.
Job Responsibilities:
Identifies errors, problems and issues while making suggestions for correction of problem.
Provides meaningful statistical information and provides a tool for feedback, OR: Provides meaningful statistical information and provides a tool that will identify the need for retraining.
Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of registration, medical terminology and insurance, OR : Develops and presents training material for new hires, including administering competency tests
Corrects quality errors in an appropriate time frame to ensure accurate information flows to billing, OR: Works with management team to identify changes needed in processes. Meets deadlines for projects.
Communicates quality issues to staff in a positive manner, OR: Coordinates changes and identifies opportunities for improvement.
Audits registrations for quality measures, i.e. ensure consistent format for data entry, accuracy of insurance information and appropriate diagnosis, OR: Presents verbal and written materials in an organized manner.
