Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Lead Ruby on Rails Developer to join our engineering team and take ownership of designing, developing, and delivering scalable web applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor other developers.
You will work closely with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to build high-quality, reliable, and scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of web applications using Ruby on Rails.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of software engineers.
- Design scalable, maintainable, and high-performance application architectures.
- Develop clean, reusable, and well-tested Ruby/Rails code.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
- Work with relational databases such as PostgreSQL/MySQL, including database design and optimization.
- Review code, establish development best practices, and maintain coding standards.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and business teams to deliver projects on schedule.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers and support their technical growth.
- Participate in system design, technical planning, estimation, and architecture discussions.
- Implement automated testing, CI/CD, and engineering best practices.
- Monitor application performance, reliability, security, and scalability.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the engineering stack.
Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years of professional software development experience, with strong experience in Ruby on Rails.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and web services.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other relational databases.
