About Us
Lone Tree Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care is a fast-paced, high-volume, team-oriented and family-like veterinary hospital providing primary, urgent, and emergency-focused care for dogs and cats.
We are looking for an experienced
Lead RVT who is confident clinically, comfortable taking initiative, and ready to help lead our technical team. If you're the type of RVT who sees what needs to be done and gets it done, we want to meet you!
The Role
The Lead RVT will be both
hands-on clinically and actively involved in team leadership and hospital operations.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Surgical preparation, patient recovery, and perioperative care
- IV catheter placement and venipuncture
- Endotracheal intubation and anesthesia monitoring
- Dental cleanings, dental radiography, and assisting with extractions
- Laboratory diagnostics and cytology
- Medication administration and patient monitoring
- Assisting veterinarians with urgent, emergency, and hospitalized cases
- Maintaining accurate medical and anesthesia records
Leadership & Operations
- Lead and delegate daily technician/assistant workflow
- Help schedule staff and provide gap coverage
- Train, mentor, and support team members
- Monitor inventory and medical supplies
- Maintain controlled-drug logs and compliance
- Help maintain hospital protocols, equipment, and organization
- Participate in on-call coverage when needed
We want someone who
leads by example, stays calm under pressure, communicates well, and is willing to step in wherever needed.
Requirements
- Current California RVT registration
- 1–3+ years of veterinary experience
- Strong surgical, anesthesia, and dental skills
- Comfortable with intubation and anesthesia monitoring
- Proficient with catheter placement, dental radiography, laboratory diagnostics, and cytology
- Experience with controlled-drug handling
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to lead, delegate, mentor, and work independently
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Willingness to work a rotating schedule, including 1–2 weekend days per month
- Willingness to provide on-call/gap coverage when needed
Highly preferred: Previous Lead RVT, senior technician, or management experience; staff scheduling; inventory management; urgent/emergency care experience; and
bilingual English/Spanish skills. Spanish is not required but is highly valued due to our Spanish-speaking clientele.
Schedule & Compensation
Full-Time | Primarily 5×8-hour shifts | $27–$30/hour
Rotating schedule with at least 1–2 weekend days per month. Additional coverage and on-call availability may occasionally be required.
