    Job Description

    EPS Corporation is seeking a Lead Quality Technician with at least five years of experience performing quality inspections, precision measurements, and audits of fabricated parts and assemblies supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or naval engineering programs. Experience supporting manned or unmanned submersibles, underwater vehicles, or maritime vessels is highly desirable.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Provide quality-control support for work performed under the task order, including the inspection, validation, evaluation, repair, and overhaul of manned and unmanned submersibles.
    • Inspect fabricated parts, components, and assemblies for compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, contractual requirements, and established quality standards.
    • Identify, select, and properly use precision measurement and inspection equipment to verify Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
    • Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, weld symbols, material specifications, and applicable military and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) technical documentation.
    • Perform in-process, receiving, and final inspections, as applicable.
    • Identify, document, and assist in resolving nonconforming conditions and other quality deficiencies.
    • Support internal and external quality audits and monitor compliance with established QMS procedures.
    • Prepare, review, and submit Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) for applicable hardware and software deliverables. OQE may include completed test procedures, inspection records, material certifications, certificates of compliance or conformance, and other documentation required by the applicable drawings, specifications, or contractual requirements.
    • Perform OQE-related activities, including:
      • Inspecting components against drawing requirements and identifying critical characteristics.
      • Reviewing and accounting for all required OQE.
      • Verifying the accuracy and completeness of inspection and test documentation.
      • Generating inspection and quality reports.
      • Resolving and documenting quality issues.
      • Maintaining and filing inspection records.
      • Applying appropriate inspection-status or nonconformance tags to components.
      • Ensuring quality records are complete, accurate, traceable, and properly maintained.
    Requirements

    Required Experience:

    • High level drawing reading with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
    • Use of:
      • Dial Caliper
      • Outside Micrometer
      • Inside Micrometer
      • Depth Gauge
      • Height Guage
      • Torque Wrench

    Desired Experience:

    • The Lead Quality Technician will oversee quality-control activities and support the EPS Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with AS9100D requirements for the Special Missions Support Systems (SMSS) program.
    • Manage quality processes for SOC-designated systems in accordance with NAVSEA S9086-AD-SOC-030 and NAVSEA SS800-AG-MAN-010/P-9290 for deep submergence and life support systems.
    • Strong knowledge of DoD quality requirements, including MIL-STD-31000B, IPC J-STD-001E, IPC-A-610, and NAVSEA procedures.
    • Proficiency with quality data reporting, metrics tracking, and enterprise CM/QA tools (e.g., CMPRO, eCRAFT, or equivalent).
