    Lead Product Engineer CAD & SAP

    Role Overview

    We are looking for a Lead Product Engineer to take technical ownership of product development, design, and lifecycle support across our product portfolio.

    This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product development, manufacturing, and operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on with CAD and SAP, understands how to turn concepts into manufacturable commercial products, and can work effectively across internal teams, suppliers, and customers.

    The Lead Product Engineer will help take products from initial concept through design, production, rollout, and ongoing improvement while also serving as a technical resource for the broader organization.

    Key Responsibilities

    Product Development & Design

    • Lead the engineering development of new and existing commercial products.

    • Translate product concepts, customer needs, and market opportunities into practical engineering solutions.

    • Create and maintain detailed 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and related documentation using Autodesk Inventor and other CAD tools.

    • Design products with consideration for manufacturability, quality, cost, reliability, and performance.

    • Evaluate and implement design improvements to existing products.

    • Work closely with product development teams to move concepts through development and into production.

    Product & Engineering Ownership

    • Serve as the engineering lead for assigned product lines.

    • Maintain technical ownership of products throughout their lifecycle.

    • Support product launches, engineering changes, and production rollouts.

    • Identify opportunities to improve product performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliability.

    • Help establish and maintain engineering standards, specifications, drawings, and product documentation.

    SAP & Engineering Data

    • Use SAP to support product development, engineering data, bills of materials, product structures, and related processes.

    • Ensure engineering information is accurate, complete, and properly maintained.

    • Partner with operations and other internal teams to ensure engineering changes are effectively implemented.

    Cross-Functional & Technical Support

    • Provide technical support to manufacturing, operations, sales, customer service, and other internal teams.

    • Work directly with suppliers and customers when engineering expertise is required.

    • Troubleshoot technical and product-related issues and develop practical solutions.

    • Collaborate with colleagues across engineering, product development, manufacturing, and commercial functions.

    • Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

    What We're Looking For

    Required

    • Strong product engineering and mechanical design experience.

    • Advanced experience with CAD, particularly Autodesk Inventor.

    • Working knowledge of SAP and engineering/product data processes.

    • Experience taking products from concept through design, production, and lifecycle support.

    • Strong understanding of commercial product design and manufacturing processes.

    • Ability to read and create engineering drawings and technical documentation.

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

    • Ability to independently lead projects while working effectively within a cross-functional team.

    Preferred

    • Experience with industrial equipment, material handling, automation, or related commercial products.
