About the Role:J and L Family Daycare in Chicago, IL is looking for a passionate and nurturing Lead Preschool Teacher to join our growing team! Responsibilities:- Plan and implement age-appropriate, developmentally focused curriculum for preschool-aged children
- Create a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment that supports early childhood development
- Supervise and guide assistant teachers and classroom aides
- Observe and document children's progress, behaviors, and milestones
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding child development and daily activities
- Maintain compliance with Illinois childcare licensing regulations and health and safety standards
- Organize and lead circle time, structured play, arts and crafts, and other early learning activities
Requirements:- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a licensed preschool or daycare setting
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must meet Illinois DCFS background check and licensing requirements
- Strong communication, patience, and classroom management skills
- Genuine passion for working with young children and supporting families
