    Location: S Tryon St Charlotte, NC

    Duration: 6 months

    Work Engagement: W2

    Work Schedule: 3 days in office/2 days remote

    Summary:

    We are seeking a highly analytical Lead Payments Risk Analyst to support a critical initiative focused on the comparison, aggregation, and analysis of wire payment data across multiple systems of record. This role will serve as a key liaison between Risk, Payments, Product, and Technology teams, leveraging advanced analytics to identify discrepancies, drive process improvements, and support regulatory and financial crime risk initiatives.

    The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of business analytics expertise, wire payments knowledge, data analysis, and stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analytical findings into actionable business insights for executive leadership.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop a deep understanding of wire transfer data, initiation channels, payment flows, and applicable financial crimes regulations.

    • Analyze and compare wire payment messages against instructions received through various initiation channels.

    • Aggregate and reconcile data across multiple systems of record to identify inconsistencies, risks, and operational improvement opportunities.

    • Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL queries to support analytics, reporting, and data validation efforts.

    • Build and enhance reporting solutions, data pipelines, and data transformation processes for business stakeholders and executives.

    • Serve as the primary liaison between the GPL Analytics team and Frontline Risk organizations.

    • Lead discussions with wire product subject matter experts (SMEs), application owners, and business partners regarding findings, root causes, and remediation strategies.

    • Present analytical outcomes and recommendations to business leaders and executive stakeholders in a clear, concise manner.

    • Ensure adherence to data governance, security, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

    • Partner with business and technology teams to resolve highly complex data and operational challenges.

    Qualifications:

    • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

    • Business Analytics experience, Payments Risk experience, or a combination of both.

    • Hands-on experience writing complex SQL queries in Microsoft SQL Server and/or Hive.

    • Experience parsing and analyzing XML, delimited, and fixed-format data files.

    • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and critical reasoning skills.

    • Experience developing reporting and analytics solutions, including data pipeline development and data transformation processes.

    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze, manipulate, and present large datasets.

    • Proven ability to communicate complex analytical findings to business stakeholders and senior leadership.

    • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.

    • Experience working with wire payments, treasury services, wholesale banking, or related financial services products. (preferred)

    • Knowledge of GPL products and services and Wholesale Banking operations.

    • Payments risk, financial crimes, or regulatory compliance experience.

    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

    • Proven ability to consult with stakeholders and lead discussions around complex business challenges.

    • Experience establishing and managing effective relationships with business and technology partners.

    • Strong organizational, prioritization, and change management skills.

    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with minimal direction.

    • Experience managing multiple concurrent initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

    • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to quickly learn new business concepts, processes, and systems.
