OmniGuide Inc. is currently in search of a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Leader specializing in Laser Medical Equipment (Co2 and Thulium Lasers) to join our expanding global Operations team in Billerica, MA.

portfolio encompasses surgical laser systems complemented by proprietary guided imaging software, flexible instruments, and other surgical tools.

Job Summary:

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will lead and oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing processes to enhance production efficiency, ensure product quality, and

reduce costs. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and solve complex engineering challenges. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will also mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Development and Optimization:

  • Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve production efficiency, product quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to eliminate waste and increase productivity.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and implement appropriate technologies to streamline operations.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Project Management:

  • Manage and execute engineering projects from concept through implementation, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and supply chain, to ensure project success.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers as needed.
  • Facilitate the operations and customer training while transferring knowledge of product repair and technical support knowledge to Technical Service teams.

Technical Leadership:

  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance team skills and knowledge.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.

Quality Assurance:

  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure product specifications and standards are met.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to conduct audits and inspections.

Health and Safety:

  • Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate hazards.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the manufacturing team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in Medical Technical Service and/or training, with advanced technological and/or clinical expertise in medical devices. Including QMS and document control knowledge
  • Proficient in effective communication across all operational levels within the organization, as well as with suppliers and customers, demonstrating tact and diplomacy to achieve objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of presenting recommendations and summarizing issues effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate, mentor, and inspire a high-performance technical service team, while ensuring accountability for results.
  • Capable of working efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.
  • Possesses strong interpersonal, communication, and analytical abilities.
  • Able to work independently while also possessing excellent team-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and skilled in problem-solving, with a keen attention to detail and administrative tasks.
  • Exhibits integrity, ethics, and a customer-focused approach, along with a positive attitude, results-driven mindset, action-oriented approach, and flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Working Conditions:

  • This role operates in a manufacturing plant environment. Exposure to moderate noise levels, machinery, and occasional chemical fumes.
