We are seeking a Lead Operator Kaizen Technician for our premier client, Heartland Automotive, in Lafayette! The Lead Operator will fabricate and assemble structural products such as racks for manufacturing parts according to job order or verbal instructions. Also helps with Kaizen activities such gathering and interpreting data.

Shifts: 1st Shift.


Employment Types: Full Time, Direct Hire.


Pay Rate: $19.00 / hour


Duties:


+ Use a variety of tools to fabricate items of need on the production floor, examples of tools that would be used are a chop saw and other power tools.

+ Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications, using square, ruler, and measuring tape.

+ Capable of analyzing data as well as observing plant activities to identify problem issues.

+ Must be able to read and understand work instructions

+ Must be proficient in math and reading skills

+ Clear understanding of Plant Metrics and Objectives.

+ Basic understanding of Production and Material Delivery Process's.

+ Capable of utilizing or learning to utilize tools such as Time Studies, Yamazumi Charts and 5 Why Analysis to pinpoint problems.

+ Ability to work well with Department Leadership to understand the desired improvement activity.

+ Excellent communication skills between Production floor and related Departments.

Position Requirements:


+ Strong decision-making skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Independent worker.

+ Must have 3-5 years of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

+ High safety awareness, use of hand tools and be highly creative.

+ Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, business journals or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

+ Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts and ability to apply concepts such as: conversions, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

+ Basic knowledge of computer and Excel functions.
