Overview:
VTG is seeking a Lead Network Engineer to support our client on-site at Fort Belvoir.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of enterprise network solutions, including LAN, WAN, intranet, extranet, and data communications networks
Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning to support Army installation modernization efforts
Design and integrate network security measures aligned with DoD standards
Evaluate, recommend, and integrate network hardware and software solutions for optimal performance and reliability
Serve as a technical lead on integrated project teams, supporting planning, scheduling, and execution activities
Participate in contract activities and status meetings with government stakeholders
Develop and deliver project documentation, plans, and technical reports to the Government
Support the integration of information technologies to improve system effectiveness across the enterprise
Maintain availability during core hours (0900–1500) and support on-site operations at Fort Belvoir, as required
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in IT, engineering, or a related technical field Four (4) additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
10+ years of experience as a Lead Engineer or leading projects of similar scope and complexity
Meets DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification requirements
One or more of the following certifications:
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE)
Government-approved vendor equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
DevOps certification from Cisco, Microsoft, or another industry-recognized provider
Prior experience supporting the U.S. Army or other federal agencies
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with senior military leadership, program managers, and technical teams
