Description

IDR is seeking a Lead MS Project Scheduler to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity supporting a large, complex implementation program. This role focuses on owning and maintaining integrated project schedules in Microsoft Project (MPP), leading scheduling working sessions, and partnering with project leadership and stakeholders to keep milestones, dependencies, and risks visible and on track. Candidates must be able to work 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Pacific Time.

Position Overview for the Lead MS Project Scheduler:

  • Owns and maintains detailed, integrated project schedules using Microsoft Project (MPP).
  • Leads scheduling discussions and working sessions with client and internal project stakeholders.
  • Partners with project leadership, workstream leads, and SMEs to gather schedule updates and ensure milestones and dependencies are accurately reflected.
  • Monitors project timelines, milestones, dependencies, critical paths, and potential scheduling risks.
  • Identifies schedule conflicts, delays, and downstream impacts and proactively communicates them to project leadership.
  • Facilitates schedule reviews and provides clear updates regarding project progress, upcoming milestones, and areas requiring attention.
  • Builds effective working relationships with stakeholders and serves as a trusted scheduling resource.
  • Provides guidance and oversight to a Junior Scheduler supporting schedule maintenance and reporting.
  • Ensures scheduling processes, documentation, and reporting remain accurate and consistent across the engagement.

Requirements for the Lead MS Project Scheduler:

  • 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Project (MPP) scheduling experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing complex, integrated project schedules.
  • Experience leading scheduling meetings and working directly with stakeholders and project leadership.
  • Strong understanding of scheduling concepts including critical path, milestones, dependencies, baselines, resource planning, and schedule variance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder-management abilities.
  • Ability to independently own the scheduling function rather than simply receiving and entering project updates.
  • Experience providing guidance or leadership to junior scheduling/project controls resources.
  • Must be able to consistently work 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Time.
