GameStop is seeking a Lead Mobile App Engineer to drive the development of innovative mobile solutions across iOS and Android platforms. This role combines hands-on engineering, technical leadership, and mentorship while partnering closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver customer-focused experiences.
This role is onsite 5 days a week in Grapevine, TX.
What You'll Do
- Lead the development and delivery of mobile applications and features supporting GameStop's PowerPacks ecosystem.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable solutions using React Native, Swift, and/or Kotlin.
- Drive technical decisions and contribute to mobile architecture and engineering standards.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality customer experiences.
- Mentor and coach engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and best practices.
- Improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Use data and customer feedback to influence product enhancements and prioritization.
- Support continuous improvement across development processes and engineering practices.
What You'll Bring
- Expert-level React Native and TypeScript practices
- Experience shipping and maintaining production iOS and Android apps, including App Store and Google Play release processes
- Strong understanding of state management tradeoffs: server state, form state, and local UI state
- Experience integrating REST and/or GraphQL APIs (Axios, Apollo, or similar)
- Experience with a mobile component library or design system (React Native Paper, NativeBase, Tamagui, or similar)
- Familiarity with React Navigation or Expo Router
- Comfort writing tests and working with mobile e2e test suites (Detox, Maestro, or Appium)
- Experience in a fast-paced ecommerce environment, including familiarity with checkout and payment flows
- Proficiency with Git-based workflows and mobile CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Fastlane, or similar)
- Strong communication skills and experience mentoring other engineer
