The LMA works collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatric providers, nurses, therapists, dietitians, podiatry, medical assistants, reception/scheduling, billing and administrative staff, case management, laboratories, pharmacies, specialists, vendors, and community partners.

POSITION SUMMARY 
The Lead Medical Assistant (LMA) is the day-to-day clinical operations lead for Your Wellness Sources (YWS) and a hands-on member of the clinical support team. This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of Medical Assistant experience, demonstrated healthcare leadership experience, and prior experience serving as a Lead Medical Assistant. The LMA helps ensure safe, efficient, patient-centered clinic operations across the front office and back office; provides direct medical assistant support when needed; coordinates clinical readiness; trains and coaches support staff; monitors adherence to workflows and quality standards; and promptly escalates clinical, staffing, patient-flow, safety, or compliance concerns to the Clinical Director and Medical Director. The ideal candidate is an experienced clinical leader who can step directly into the role with strong accountability, organization, communication, operational judgment, and the ability to understand and support YWS's integrated and ancillary service lines. 


The LMA works collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatric providers, nurses, therapists, dietitians, podiatry, medical assistants, reception/scheduling, billing and administrative staff, case management, laboratories, pharmacies, specialists, vendors, and community partners. The position does not independently diagnose, prescribe, interpret diagnostic studies, or make clinical decisions outside the medical assistant's training, delegated authority, YWS policy, and applicable law.

YWS SERVICE-LINE READINESS 
The Lead Medical Assistant is expected to learn and maintain operational competency in the workflows, equipment, supplies, documentation requirements, patient preparation, and escalation pathways applicable to YWS services, including: 

• Primary care, preventive care, chronic disease management, and women’s health services. 
• Behavioral health, psychotherapy support workflows, psychiatric evaluation/medication-management support, and substance-use treatment/MAT workflows, including Vivitrol support where delegated. 
• Nutrition services and coordination of interdisciplinary care. 
• Podiatry clinic support, including room, instrument, supply, and procedure readiness within scope. 
• Immunizations and injectable medication workflows, including inventory, storage, documentation, and required logs. 
• Phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing, laboratory coordination, point-of-care testing, and tracking of ordered studies. 
• ECG, spirometry, audiogram, and other diagnostic screening workflows for which the employee has documented training and competency. 
• IV therapy and iron-infusion support workflows within delegated scope, including room/supply readiness and emergency preparedness. 
• Weight-management/GLP-1 program support and patient-flow/documentation workflows. 
• Minor-procedure support, including incision-and-drainage setup and other provider-directed procedures within scope. 
• Care-management workflows such as CCM, RPM, and TCM, including routing, documentation support, and follow-up coordination as assigned. 
• Occupational/medical-readiness and other contracted clinical services as assigned, with service-specific training and competency validation.
