Education Requirements

• Associate degree in a technical field required
• Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience Requirements

• 7+ years of mechanical assembly experience
• Prior leadership experience in a prototype, engineering, or advanced manufacturing environment
• Advanced CAD and mechanical troubleshooting experience
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation systems
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Strong knowledge of machining, materials, tolerances, and fabrication methods

Job Duties

• Lead end-to-end assembly of prototype equipment and mechanical systems
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and specifications
• Modify, assemble, troubleshoot, and test complex mechanical assemblies
• Work with sheet metal components, machining processes, and fabrication methods
• Support automation, hydraulic, and pneumatic system integration
• Assist with project estimating, labor planning, and cost control
• Mentor and train technicians on assembly processes and best practices
• Drive continuous improvement, quality standards, and workplace safety

• Ability to work with mechanical tools, machinery, and prototype equipment
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
• Ability to lift and move components and materials as needed
• Ability to work in a manufacturing and engineering environment

What You Will Do

As a Lead Mechanical Technician you will inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair production machinery, mechanical systems, and facility equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance, replace worn components, make mechanical adjustments, document completed work, identify equipment concerns, and collaborate with production and maintenance teams to reduce downtime while supporting safe, reliable operations.

The Lead Mechanical Technician plays an important role in maintaining the machinery and mechanical systems required for dependable daily operations. This position requires mechanical expertise, adaptability, and the ability to respond effectively when equipment problems occur.

Successful Lead Mechanical Technician candidates understand mechanical repair, preventative maintenance, equipment alignment, and safe tool use while helping extend equipment life and improve operational performance. Consistent workmanship contributes directly to production reliability.
