POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Lead, Mechanical Engineer, your roles and responsibilities will include:
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of engineers and designers.
- Supporting hiring, workforce planning, and performance management.
- Driving mechanical design decisions across new product development and legacy product support.
- Serving as the lead mechanical engineer responsible for design integrity, product performance, and compliance.
- Developing and refining mechanical designs in accordance with internal standards and customer specifications.
- Applying GD&T, tolerance analysis, and sound engineering principles to ensure manufacturability and performance.
- Performing engineering calculations and collaborating with analysts to validate designs.
- Defining and executing design verification strategies.
- Supporting production by troubleshooting issues, implementing design updates, and improving processes.
- Partnering with manufacturing and quality teams to resolve nonconformances and drive corrective actions.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable industry, customer, and regulatory standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Lead, Mechanical Engineer who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Lead, Mechanical Engineer would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- Bachelor s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and minimum 7 years of prior related experience.
- CAD software such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, NX, or similar.
- GD&T application and interpretation according to ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100.
- Dimensional stack-up/tolerance analysis.
- Mechanics, vibration, fatigue, and thermal concepts.
- DFMA and manufacturing processes.
- AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality systems.
- FEA tools and test validation methods.
- Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering experience.
