Why this role matters
Our customers rely on rotary kilns and Pyro systems to power the cement and heavy industrial supply chain. These assets must run safely, efficiently, and for decades. You’ll be the technical lead who modernizes legacy equipment, engineers retrofit solutions, and ensures reliable operation in the field.
Your impact (bullet-first)
- Provide senior-level engineering support for rotary kilns and associated heavy Pyro/process machinery.
- Develop engineered solutions for aftermarket upgrades, retrofits, rebuilds, and equipment modifications.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and recommend concise, actionable fixes.
- Author, review, and approve SolidWorks/AutoCAD3D models and 2D drawings.
- Execute and validate mechanical analyses and complete design documentation.
- Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Manufacturing, and customers on technical proposals.
- Interpret specs and evaluate installed equipment to select the right technical path.
- Support installation, commissioning, inspections, and onsite troubleshooting.
- Advance product improvements, standardization, value engineering, and continuous improvement.
- Coach teammates and provide cross-functional technical guidance.
- Travel for customer support: about 30 days/year.
Must-haves
- BS in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related).
- Demonstrated experience with heavy industrial mechanical design.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
- Experience creating/reviewing engineering drawings, designs, and calculations.
- Proven track record with aftermarket projects: rebuilds, retrofits, upgrades, modernization.
- Field experience: troubleshooting, inspections, installation, or commissioning.
- Clear communicator with strong problem-solving skills; able to operate independently.
Nice-to-haves
- Background in the cement industry.
- Experience with rotary kilns, furnaces, rotary dryers, coolers, preheaters, combustion systems, or comparable rotating/process equipment.
- Exposure to mining, minerals processing, or bulk material handling.
- OEM or engineered-to-order experience.
