Description

Lead Mechanical Technician

TRC is seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Technician to assemble, install, troubleshoot, and support advanced industrial automation equipment and robotic work cells. This position plays a key role in the mechanical build, integration, testing, and commissioning of custom automation machinery while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience leading mechanical builds and working with complex industrial automation systems.

Location: Alpharetta, GA
Job Type: Direct Hire
Travel: 10-25% domestic and international

Salary Range: $70k-72k

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical assembly and installation of automation equipment and robotic systems.

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly prints, and pneumatic schematics.

  • Install, align, and troubleshoot mechanical components, conveyors, and automation machinery.

  • Support machine testing, startup, and customer acceptance activities.

  • Coordinate build activities and provide guidance to technicians.

  • Communicate project status and technical issues to management and engineering teams.

  • Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and project managers to resolve issues.

  • Follow all safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Technical training or equivalent hands-on experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in machine building, mechanical assembly, or industrial automation.

  • Experience leading mechanical builds for automated machinery.

  • Strong knowledge of pneumatics, motion systems, conveyors, and robotics.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation.

  • Experience troubleshooting and commissioning industrial automation equipment.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to travel as needed.
