    Position Overview

    As International Motors continues to grow in San Antonio, we are expanding our production operations with the introduction of a night production shift. The night shift is Monday through Thursday from 5:30 PM to 4:00 AM, with production planned to begin in early 2027. This is a salaried position supporting a manufacturing operation. While the primary schedule aligns with the designated production shift, employees are expected to provide operational support as needed to meet business objectives. This may require working outside normal production hours, including extended shifts, production startup activities, recovery efforts, and occasional weekend support based on operational requirements.

    Shift Differential: 10% differential upon transitioning to Night Shift work schedule.

    Join our team as a Lead Manufacturing Engineer - IVEST and play a critical role in driving the digital transformation of our truck manufacturing operations. In this position, you will lead the development, implementation, and optimization of IVEST solutions that connect IT, production, quality and other support functions across the plants within Intranational.

    The ideal candidate will combine manufacturing engineering expertise with strong technical knowledge of IVEST and other test and validation software, automation systems, and data integration. You will work closely with Operations, Quality, IT, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to improve productivity, enhance traceability, and support world-class manufacturing performance.

    The ideal candidate will also work with development teams from Traton to commonize programming and testing procedures in the future.

    This role offers the opportunity to influence how trucks are built by leveraging technology, data, and process innovation to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.

    Responsibilities

    Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

    • Identify testing requirements for electrical, air, and hydraulic system on the bus and identify processes required for testing to assure that buses meet customer and regulatory requirements as well as product specifications
    • Improve quality through testing, tracking results, and identifying solutions
    • Work with Program Teams and Production Engineering to ensure vehicle electronics concerns are addressed
    • Trouble shoot chassis wiring circuits by following circuit diagrams and harness tabulation drawings
    • Use Vendor DOCs (diagnostic codes) to troubleshoot vehicle electronic modules
    • Liaison between IT, production, and engineering to solve issues with vehicle electronics, chassis wiring, Dyno, ABS, and IVEST (control module programming and diagnostics)
    • Track, document, and report repeated issues to required departments using 3 panels and other tools and drive improvement
    • Obtain vehicle information using Common Vehicle Tracking, Feature Search, and the Vehicle Electronics Websites
    • Coordinate with IT any software updates for Dynamometer, ABS, and IVEST
    • Support a portion of new components parts, SQ (special orders) and Program releases
    • Be willing to learn new skills and gather information as each issue presents new opportunities
    • Troubleshoot electrical issues and diagnostic codes and repair as necessary

    Production Support & Troubleshooting

    • Provide IVEST support for production operations and rapidly resolve system and hardware-related issues.
    • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
    • Support production launches, equipment commissioning, and process changes.

    Quality & Traceability

    • Develop and maintain manufacturing traceability systems for components and finished vehicles.
    • Ensure accurate collection and reporting of production and quality data.
    • Support regulatory compliance, customer requirements, and internal audit activities.

    Data Analytics & Reporting

    • Utilize manufacturing and production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
    • Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reports related to productivity, quality, downtime, and operational performance.
    • Drive data-driven decision making throughout the manufacturing organization.

    Project Management

    • Lead IVEST implementation, upgrade, and expansion projects.
    • Coordinate internal stakeholders, external vendors, and system integrators.
    • Manage project timelines, budgets, risks, and deliverables.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in product manufacturing

    OR

    • Master's degree and at least 1 year of experience in product manufacturing

    OR

    • At least 5 years of experience in product manufacturing

    Desired Skills

    • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
    • 5+ years of experience supporting manufacturing systems, IVEST platforms, or industrial automation in a production environment.
    • Experience leading cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes within an assembly, automotive, heavy equipment, or truck manufacturing facility.

    Technical Skills

    • Familiarity with automotive electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
    • Experience in vehicle electronics, chassis wiring, Dyno, ABS, and IVEST (control module programming and diagnostics)
    • Use Vendor DOCs (diagnostic codes) to troubleshoot vehicle electronic modules
    • Knowledge of manufacturing traceability, serialization, and quality management systems.
    • Familiarity with Industry 4.0, IIoT, and Smart Factory technologies.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in heavy truck, automotive, powertrain, engine, or complex assembly manufacturing.
    • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma certification.
    • Experience supporting highly automated production environments.
    • Knowledge of cloud-based manufacturing technologies and advanced analytics tools.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and complete work in a timely manner with minimal supervision
    • Ability to interact with all levels of management
    • Proficient with MS Office, to include very strong Excel skills
    • Strong Database search skills
