Lead Maintenance Worker, under direction of the Director of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation, performs a wide variety of specialized and responsible tasks relating to the Skilled Maintenance, Construction, and Repair Work on School Buildings, Operations including electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, heating, and building maintenance, and Grounds. May serve as Second-In-Command within Operations and Grounds as needed; in absence of M/O/T Director.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge and Application of:
District policies and procedures as they apply; Methods and practices of maintenance, construction, electricity, plumbing, tool and equipment management; Operation of tools and equipment used in all phases of school maintenance; Oral and written communication skills; Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy; Supervisory training and management techniques; Basic knowledge of construction, plumbing, electricity, air conditioning, refrigeration, heating, and general equipment repair; Knowledge of and ability to use electrical testing equipment. Principles of supervision training and management, strategies of management, personnel practices; basic safety practices regarding equipment.
Ability to:
Education / Experience:
High school diploma or GED required
Two years of journeyman level Lead or Supervisory experience and four years of journeyman level building maintenance repair
Possession of a valid California Drivers License
Possession of valid HVAC certification desirable; additional training and/or certification as applicable to duties and responsibilities.
Salary Level: 75 - Classified Salary Schedule
