Job Title: Lead Line Intervention Technician
Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Location: Vineland, NJ Area (Field-Based)
Pay: $30-$34/hr.
Job Summary Openwork is hiring on behalf of our client for a Lead Line Intervention Technician (OTF) responsible for safely leading and performing on-the-fly pipeline intervention services in industrial and municipal environments. This role involves hands-on field leadership, technical execution of pressurized pipeline operations, and coordination with internal teams, supervisors, and customers to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality job completion.
The ideal candidate will bring strong field experience in hot tapping, line stopping, and mechanical pipeline work, along with the ability to lead crews in high-pressure, safety-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities- Perform hot tapping and line stopping operations on pressurized pipeline systems
- Set up, operate, and maintain hot tap and line stop equipment in the field
- Install fittings, valves, and temporary pipeline isolation equipment per job specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, job plans, and technical drawings
- Lead and conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and ensure full compliance with safety standards
- Support preparation of job build sheets and verify correct equipment selection and usage
- Monitor pipeline pressures and ensure safe isolation of active systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues during field execution
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance of tools and equipment
- Complete detailed job documentation, reports, and safety records accurately
- Coordinate with supervisors, customers, engineers, and field teams to ensure project success
Qualifications- Minimum 2+ years of experience in line intervention, hot tapping, or related industrial field services
- Strong understanding of pressurized pipeline systems and field safety practices
- Ability to read technical drawings and job specifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Valid drivers license required
- Ability to pass drug screening (pre-employment and random testing)
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written English required)
- Ability to work independently and lead small crews in the field
- Experience in municipal or industrial pipeline environments preferred
Work Conditions- Field-based role requiring travel between multiple job sites
- Work performed indoors and outdoors in varying and sometimes extreme weather conditions
- Exposure to industrial environments, including active pipeline systems
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Physical Requirements- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
- Frequent walking, climbing, and working on ladders or elevated surfaces
- Ability to work in confined, elevated, or hard-to-reach areas
- Must be able to manage physically demanding tasks in industrial settings
- Ability to remain alert and perform effectively in high-stress, safety-sensitive environments
