Lead Line Cook

The Lead Line Cook at The Hacienda Mission San Luis Rey plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences by leading the kitchen line and ensuring high-quality food preparation. This position requires strong leadership, culinary expertise, and the ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment while working efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise kitchen line staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations during service hours.
• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
• Ensure all food is prepared safely and hygienically, complying with health and safety regulations.
• Assist with inventory management and stock rotation.
• Collaborate with kitchen team to maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
• Support the Chef in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff.
• Help manage kitchen workflow to meet customer demand and minimize waste.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a line cook or similar kitchen role, preferably in a leadership capacity.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen safety standards.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Food Handler’s Certification is required.
