HealthFitness is looking for a full-time (40 hours/week) Lead Lifeguard & Recreation Assistant to join our dynamic team at our client site in Marysville, Ohio (OH). Enjoy a supportive team environment while helping keep our pool safe and welcoming for everyone.

Work a flexible schedule, within the following hours of operation:

Monday-Friday: 5am-6pm

Saturday: 10am-3pm

Responsible for monitoring and ensuring a safe and friendly environment for all of the aquatic facility members and guests.

Key Accountabilities

• Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.
• Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
• Respond appropriately to any emergency.
• Perform chemical testing and documents results for two bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day. Works with Aquatics Coordinator to ensure proper operation of the aquatic's facilities.
• Attend all required staff meetings and training.
• Assist Aquatics Coordinator with implementation of programming, training lifeguards, and scheduling.
• Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by cleaning and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members.
• Assist Recreation Coordinator with set-up/tear down of local events (Marysville, Raymond, and East Liberty) and scorekeeping.
• Maintain a professional attitude.
• Other duties as needed/assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.
• Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification.
• Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.
• Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.
• Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools.

 
All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of:

• 500 yard swim.
• Active, Passive, Submerged rescues.
• Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water.
• Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.

Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test. The compensation range for this role is $16.00 - $17.00/hour + comprehensive benefits package. The final wage offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.  We understand that compensation is an important factor when considering a new opportunity, and we strive to provide a competitive wage within the market.
