Description

Lead Lifeguard – Community Center Pool

Location: Bagdad, AZ
Must be 21 and over

Position Summary:
The Lead Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all pool patrons while assisting with the daily operations of the community pool. This position provides leadership and guidance to lifeguard staff, monitors pool activities, enforces facility rules, and responds to emergencies when necessary. The Lead Lifeguard serves as a role model for professionalism, customer service, and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor pool activities to ensure the safety of all guests and staff.

  • Enforce pool rules, policies, and safety regulations in a professional and consistent manner.

  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, providing first aid, CPR, and water rescues as needed.

  • Assist with scheduling, training, and mentoring lifeguard staff.

  • Conduct opening and closing pool inspections and ensure all safety equipment is operational.

  • Maintain accurate incident, accident, and daily operational reports.

  • Assist with pool maintenance duties, including monitoring water conditions and reporting maintenance concerns.

  • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and assisting patrons.

  • Coordinate with Community Center staff to ensure a safe, welcoming, and positive environment.

  • Assist with special events, swim programs, and community activities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Current Lifeguard Certification required.

  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications required.

  • Previous lifeguarding experience required; leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Must be able to swim proficiently and perform lifesaving rescues.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and sit for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to perform emergency water rescues and administer CPR/First Aid when needed.

Schedule:
Seasonal position with flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
