Description
The Lands End School is a Private Non-Profit Childcare Center located on the San Francisco Veteran Affairs Medical Center Campus near the Lands End Trails. Our goal is to provide quality care for families of the SFVA Medical Center and the surrounding community. We believe in learning through play and exploration in a beautiful natural setting.
Our school provides a nurturing and loving experience and education for children ages 3 months to 5 years old. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for Early Childhood Education and are looking for a professional to work with children ages 3 mos. - 18 mos.
In addition to maintaining licensing requirements, we are looking for someone who is able to actively supervise infants and staff. We are looking for someone to provide age appropriate and joyful learning opportunities for infants and communicate effectively with children, families, and staff.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Must be 18 years or older
A joyful disposition and love of working with children
Currently holds 24 Early Childhood Education (ECE) Units in addition to the mandatory Infant Toddler class
3 years Teaching in ECE
Must pass ALL state license requirements, a comprehensive background check, TB Test, and have updated immunization records.
CPR and First Aid Certified
Ability to:
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain professional working relationships with children, parents, and staff,
Reports incidents of suspected child abuse to the proper authorities,
Adheres to program policies and procedures,
Organize and schedule program staff to ensure proper ratios are maintained,
Actively supervises children and staff to ensure a sense of well-being, safety and health regulations,
Mentor to program staff, encouraging and facilitating their development in ECE,
Plan and provide appropriate play based, emergent, and project-based curriculum that follows the national and local educational and child care standards
Plan and facilitate team meetings to promote ongoing communication
Knowledge of Program CSEFL Teaching Pyramid, Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ), Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDPs)
Hold a current California Department of Education Children Development Permit
AA or advanced Degree in Child Development
Reports to School Director any and all concerns that may arise to be addressed in a timely manner
