Job Description

A&N Lawn Service Inc. is seeking a dependable, organized skilled, and motivated Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of landscaping equipment, commercial trucks, heavy equipment, and snow removal machinery.

This position plays an important role in keeping our fleet and equipment operating safely and efficiently throughout the year. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is organized, works independently, and understands the importance of preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on company vehicles and equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and engine-related issues.
• Maintain and repair commercial lawn mowers, zero-turn mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, and other landscaping equipment.
• Service and repair skid steers, loaders, tractors, and other heavy equipment.
• Maintain and repair pickup trucks, dump trucks, trailers, and other fleet vehicles.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair snowplows, salt spreaders, snow blowers, and winter maintenance equipment.
• Perform oil changes, brake repairs, tire replacements, belt replacements, and other preventative maintenance.
• Identify potential equipment problems before they result in costly breakdowns.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair logs, and service schedules.
• Order and organize replacement parts, tools, and shop supplies as needed.
• Keep the mechanic shop, tools, and equipment clean, safe, and organized.
• Work with management and crew supervisors to prioritize repairs and minimize equipment downtime.
• Assist with emergency repairs and breakdowns during peak landscaping and snow removal seasons.
• Ensure all vehicles and equipment meet company safety and operational standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Previous experience as a mechanic, preferably with landscaping, construction, agricultural, or commercial fleet equipment.
Strong knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines.
Experience diagnosing hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and complete repairs independently.
Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus.
Ability to read service manuals and use diagnostic equipment.
Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
Ability to lift 50–75 pounds and perform physically demanding work.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Dependable, punctual, and able to manage multiple repair priorities.
Willingness to work additional hours when necessary during busy seasons.
