Zing is hiring an experienced Lead Fire Sprinkler Technician to join a growing team servicing commercial fire sprinkler systems throughout the Maryland region. If you have hands-on sprinkler service experience, know NFPA codes, and enjoy troubleshooting in the field, this is an excellent opportunity with strong earning potential and long-term stability.
What You'll Do
- Perform inspections, testing, service, and repairs on fire sprinkler systems
- Respond to emergency service calls and troubleshoot system issues
- Identify code deficiencies and recommend corrective actions
- Interpret and apply NFPA 25 standards during inspections
- Complete accurate service reports and documentation
- Communicate findings and repair recommendations with customers
- Participate in an on-call rotation
- Perform fire pump flow testing (preferred)
- 2+ years of fire sprinkler inspection and repair experience
- Strong knowledge of NFPA codes
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (3 points or fewer)
- Minimum of 3 years of licensed driving experience
- Ability to work from ladders and aerial lifts
- Comfortable lifting up to 70 lbs and working in confined spaces
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- NICET certification (or willingness to obtain) is a plus
- Monday through Friday
- Typical hours between 5:00 AM and 6:00 PM
- On-call rotation required
- $30 to $50 per hour, based on experience
- Time and a half for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 5:00 AM
- Four-hour minimum at time and a half for emergency service calls
- Four-hour minimum at double time for holiday emergency calls, plus holiday pay
