Do you enjoy solving problems, tackling projects, and keeping buildings operating at their best? Are you someone who thrives in the field rather than behind a desk? Join 6PM Hospitality and American Hospitality Management (AHM) as our Lead Facilities & Maintenance Manager, where you'll play a critical role in maintaining and improving a growing portfolio of hotels across the country.

This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for supporting hotel maintenance teams, overseeing renovations and capital projects, troubleshooting facility issues, and ensuring our hotels remain safe, functional, and guest-ready.

Why You'll Love This Job

  • Travel & Variety – Visit hotels throughout the country and make a difference wherever you're needed.
  • Hands-On Leadership – Work alongside maintenance teams while leading major projects and operational improvements.
  • No Two Days Are the Same – From emergency repairs to hotel renovations, every day brings new challenges.
  • Make a Lasting Impact – Your work directly improves our hotels, supports our teams, and enhances the guest experience.
  • Growth Opportunity – Help build a growing facilities department with future leadership opportunities.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead Maintenance Operations – Support maintenance teams across multiple hotel properties and ensure facilities are operating safely and efficiently.
  • Roll Up Your Sleeves – Personally perform maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and project work when needed.
  • Support Capital Projects – Assist with hotel renovations, Property Improvement Plans (PIPs), conversions, and new hotel openings.
  • Oversee Contractors – Coordinate vendors, monitor project progress, inspect workmanship, and ensure projects stay on schedule.
  • Maintain Building Systems – Troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, pool, and life safety systems.
  • Drive Preventive Maintenance – Help properties maintain organized shops, inventory controls, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Improve Operations – Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality facilities.
  • Train & Develop Teams – Coach hotel maintenance staff on maintenance best practices, safety standards, and operational procedures.
  • Support Brand Standards – Assist hotels during QA inspections, brand audits, ownership visits, and insurance inspections.
  • Respond When It Matters Most – Provide emergency maintenance support and temporary leadership during staffing shortages or operational challenges.

What We're Looking For

  • Five or more years of facilities, maintenance, construction, or project management experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Hospitality maintenance experience preferred.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Travel Requirements

This is a travel-intensive position requiring travel throughout the 6PM Hospitality and AHM portfolio. Travel will typically exceed 75% of the work schedule and may approach 100% during renovations, hotel openings, Property Improvement Plans (PIPs), emergencies, or staffing shortages.

Candidates should expect frequent overnight travel and extended stays at hotel properties as business needs require.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform physical maintenance activities.
  • Climb ladders, bend, kneel, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

If you're looking for an opportunity to combine technical expertise, leadership, and travel while helping shape the future of a growing hospitality company, we'd love to hear from you.
