POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Lead Embedded Software Engineer, your roles and responsibilities will include:

" Lead embedded software development execution for mission-critical systems.
" Lead the adoption and deployment of RUST across multiple embedded product lines.
" Guide the integration and conversion of legacy software to RUST.
" Establish best practices, architectural guidance, design patterns, idioms, and tooling for memory-safe RUST development.
" Translate software requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions.
" Lead software development throughout the full SDLC, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, hardware-software integration, and formal testing.
" Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to develop hardware/software interfaces and evaluate system performance requirements.
" Investigate complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions independently or with multidisciplinary teams.
" Develop software test plans, procedures, and technical documentation.
" Participate in peer reviews, defect tracking, and resolution.
" Develop embedded real-time software using RUST, C/C++, and Python across VxWorks, Linux, and Integrity environments.
" Serve as a technical mentor and reviewer for junior software engineers.
" Support software planning, proposals, cost estimates, and proposal packages.
" Contribute to Scrum teams and help establish technical direction and strategy for product and infrastructure development.
" Travel less than 10% for onboarding, integration, or Scrum activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Lead Embedded Software Engineer who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Lead Embedded Software Engineer would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:

" Bachelor s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 9+ years of relevant experience; or Graduate Degree with 7+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
" At least 3 years of experience leading software development teams.
" At least 5 years of C/C++ development and object-oriented design experience.
" Hands-on RUST software development experience.
" Experience leading embedded software development for mission-critical systems.
" Experience developing software for embedded real-time operating systems such as VxWorks, Linux, or Integrity.
" At least 5 years of experience tracking Earned Value Management (EVM).
" At least 3 years of experience creating and presenting software proposals, including cost estimates and proposal packages.
" 2+ years of experience in an Agile or software lead role.
" Experience leading large software planning efforts.
" Strong understanding of embedded software architecture, development, integration, and formal testing.
" Excellent communication, mentoring, technical leadership, and problem-solving skills.
" Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
