This high-profile IT Director role is jointly responsible for the transformation, modernization and automation strategy along with its execution for the Claim adjudication platform.
Major Responsibilities Include:
The Director will lead an experienced and motivated team tasked with delivering high-quality, modular and scalable solutions, ensuring that CVS Health continues to stay innovative in the healthcare marketplace.
To be successful in this role you must exhibit the following:
Experience with industry leading expertise in IBMi and similar technologies
API Development: Designing and building RESTful APIs using Java to connect frontend interfaces with backend IBM i systems.
System Integration: Seamlessly connecting AS/400 with other enterprise systems, cloud platforms, and third-party web services.
Experience leading strategic planning for enterprise applications including planning related to scalable growth, performance tuning, and optimization of the systems.
Experience analyzing the enterprise platforms and related technologies to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement
Experience in creating and running budgets, strategic planning, process enhancement, technical leadership, HR management and staff development
Competencies
Required Qualifications
10+ years of IT experience in a large-scale complex technology environment, leading IT teams focused on application/system architecture & application development.
Java Stack: Expert knowledge of Core Java, JEE, Spring, Spring Boot, JDBC, and Hibernate.
IBMi Fundamentals: Understanding of AS/400 architecture, CL (Control Language) commands, and the Integrated File System (IFS).
Modern Web Frontend: Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue.js.
Database & SQL: Deep experience with SQL/400, DDS, and modern RDBMS concepts (PostgreSQL, mongoDB, or SQL Server).
DevOps & Tooling: Familiarity with Git for version control, CI/CD pipelines, Maven, and containerization tools like Docker or Kubernetes
In depth understanding of APIs and microservices-based architecture
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Preferred Qualifications
Health Care Industry domain knowledge including 2+ years' experience in a Director level role or 4+ years of diverse experience in a Sr Manager role.
Experience in enterprise development tools and methodologies (XP, Agile) including DevSecOps and DataOps
Experience integrating with legacy mainframe/mid-range applications including developing roadmaps for modernization of the applications

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$144,200.00 - $288,400.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
