    Job Description & Responsibilities:

    Lead Control Systems Engineers oversee the design and execution of Power and Energy Automation projects, ensuring successful delivery from concept through commissioning.

    Team Leadership & Sales Support:

    • Offer technical direction while contributing to project leadership
    • Delegate responsibilities and coordinate tasks across the project team
    • Support change order development by estimating hardware needs and engineering effort tied to scope adjustments
    • Build and sustain strong relationships with existing clients

    Instrumentation & Electrical Design:

    • Develop instrument lists based on P&ID reviews
    • Assess instrumentation requirements and choose suitable devices
    • Select appropriate control hardware for each application
    • Prepare submittal packages for instrumentation and control components
    • Design control panel layouts and create electrical schematics
    • Source and procure required hardware
    • Provide guidance to panel fabrication teams
    • Review and verify completed control panels

    System Design and Configuration:

    • Facilitate customer design review sessions
    • Develop and configure PLC and/or DCS control strategies
    • Design and implement HMI and user interface displays
    • Perform internal testing for functionality and quality assurance
    • Produce system documentation
    • Support customer demonstrations and factory acceptance testing

    On-Site System Startup:

    • Deploy software and system configurations at customer sites
    • Conduct point-to-point I/O and loop verification for instrumentation
    • Perform calibration and tuning of control systems
    • Execute full system functional testing
    • Diagnose and resolve installation or integration issues
    • Assist with additional customer validation activities
    • Implement field modifications when needed
    • Train end users on system operation and maintenance

    Working Conditions:

    • Travel to various facilities for installation, commissioning, service, and troubleshooting is required
    • May involve non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support continuous operations

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline (or equivalent technical certification)
    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience

    Controls Platform Experience (at least one of the following):

    • Rockwell Automation: FactoryTalk Suite, RSLogix/Studio 5000, familiarity with PlantPAx DCS
    • AVEVA System Platform
    • Inductive Automation Ignition
    • Distech Controls: BACnet/LON systems and Eclypse controllers

    Additional Preferred Experience:

    • Johnson Controls (Facility Explorer, Metasys)
    • Siemens systems (Apogee/PXC, Talon, DXR, Desigo CC, Insight)
    • Tridium Niagara N4
    • SQL databases
    • Scripting languages such as VBA or Python
    • Familiarity with Kepware OPC, ThinManager, and VMware
