Position Overview
All Hours Mechanical is looking for a
Lead Commercial HVAC Retrofit Technician who can take ownership of complex commercial replacement and retrofit projects from start to finish.
This is not a desk position. We need a highly skilled, hands-on professional who can lead a crew while working alongside them. The right person has proven experience installing and replacing commercial boilers, chillers, Trane IntelliPak units, large RTUs, split systems, pumps, and piping.
You'll own the scope, plan the installation, direct the crew, solve problems as they arise, and make sure the finished product meets our standards for

Responsibilities
- Lead and perform retrofit and replacement projects from mobilization through startup and completion
- Install and replace commercial boilers, chillers, IntelliPak units, large RTUs, split systems, pumps, and piping
- Lead by example as a working crew leader — hands-on installation work required
- Review scope, drawings, specs, and submittals; plan daily work and assign responsibilities to installers, apprentices, and subcontractors
- Coordinate equipment setting, rigging, cranes, piping, electrical, controls, and startup — including refrigerant/hydronic piping, evacuation, charging, and commissioning within your qualifications
- Identify field conditions or scope changes and communicate them before they create schedule or cost problems
- Maintain accountability for labor hours, materials, productivity, workmanship, schedule, and documentation
- Communicate professionally with PMs, customers, vendors, subs, and other trades
- Train and develop less-experienced technicians
- Own the finished product: clean jobsite, code-compliant work, punch list resolved promptly
Requirements
- 5+ years commercial HVAC installation/retrofit experience, including larger commercial equipment
- Demonstrated ability to independently lead equipment replacements and retrofits
- Boiler, chiller, and/or Trane IntelliPak (or comparable) experience strongly preferred
- Strong grasp of refrigeration, airflow, hydronics, piping, electrical, controls, and startup
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, submittals, and wiring diagrams
- Troubleshoots installation and startup issues without constant supervision
- Experience directing technicians, apprentices, subs, or crews
- Able to safely perform the physical requirements of commercial HVAC installation
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- EPA Section 608 Certification required
Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday, 40+ hours. Overtime as projects require; occasional after-hours or weekend work.
Work Location
In person — based in Macedonia, Ohio 44056, with travel to commercial project sites throughout Northeast Ohio.
